Abstract

Mental health awareness in Pakistan remains a critical issue, with many individuals facing significant barriers in accessing mental health care. This article explores the obstacles that hinder mental health awareness and access, including cultural stigmas, lack of infrastructure, and inadequate mental health education. It also presents strategies to enhance mental health services in the country. Drawing on data from national surveys, interviews with healthcare professionals, and case studies, this paper identifies key barriers and suggests practical solutions for improving mental health awareness and care access in Pakistan. A multifaceted approach, involving policy reforms, community awareness campaigns, and integration of mental health services into primary healthcare, is necessary to address the current challenges effectively.
