Abstract

The role of healthcare workers in managing epidemics has been critical, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. In Pakistan, healthcare workers played an essential role in diagnosing, treating, and controlling the spread of the virus. Despite facing numerous challenges such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and societal stigmas, these professionals exhibited resilience in safeguarding public health. This study explores the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the indispensable contributions of healthcare workers. Through a qualitative approach, the study highlights key strategies and interventions that can strengthen the healthcare system's response to future pandemics. Recommendations are made to enhance training, resource allocation, and mental health support for healthcare workers.
